Here at Party Rental Ltd. we’re always looking for new, fresh linen styles, colors and patterns to expand our product offerings. We want them to be eye-catching and perfect for creating stunning table designs. So, what happens when you pair a wide variety of linen prints and styles with some of the most creative designers out there? Well, their imaginations run wild!
Sometimes our designers may look at a fully set table and see the linen in different ways. It’s not unusual for someone to say, “That pattern would be amazing on a tie!” or “This would be perfect for a pocket square.” Having heard this so many times, knew our clients were onto something…
Meet Nora Gardner. This NY-based designer is known for creating attractive women’s wear inspired by the time she spent in the corporate world. We approached Nora with a challenge: Take one of our fabrics and turn it into a stylish dress! The print chosen was the Blossom Latte. This glossy brownish linen features an all-over floral design, which we thought would work perfect for this challenge. It has the right amount of shimmer and natural flare that made Nora gravitate towards this particular fabric.
The results speak for themselves!
So, how would this talented designer describe the process of taking a fabric known for being a tablecloth and turning it into an amazing dress? To find out, we asked Nora ourselves!
How would you describe your fashion and style? Classic, timeless, and always fitted at the waist.
Where does your artistic influence come from and when did you start making clothing? My muses are classic, timeless icons such as Jackie Kennedy, Coco Chanel, Carolina Herrera and Kate Middleton. I started designing as a little girl, but professionally about three years ago.
What did you think when you were challenged to create a dress from a linen used in the event rental business? Bring it on!
What was your inspiration for the design? A dress that lets the fabric and print shine.
What do you love most about this linen? I love the print – it reminds me of the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC, where I went to school.
What other Party Rental Ltd. linens would you love to transform into a key fashion statement? I have many ideas for the great fabrics you offer but I think I could make a really fun, festive jacket out of your table runners!
We’d like to thank Nora for taking the time for this design challenge and for creating such a stunning dress! Check out more of her designs at http://noragardner.com/
