As 2018 came to an end and we looked towards the new year, the Pantone Color Institute — world authority on color standards — was tasked with choosing a hue to lead the way into the 2019. Inspired both by nature and technology, Living Coral was designated the Color of the Year 2019, making a splash with its warm-yet-energizing charm. With a nod to our oceans’ lively reefs, Living Coral was chosen for its playful nature and ability to bring people together.
“Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities and this is particularly true for Living Coral. With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial PANTONE Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”
— Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, says of Color of the Year 2019.
As many creative minds in the event industry focus on finding the balance between “Instagram-able moments” and encouraging guests to live in the moment, Living Coral is an especially thoughtful choice for 2019 event designs.
Living Coral in Event Design
Loving Living Coral? So are we! Inspired by the aquatic aesthetic of Living Coral, we styled a look around our vibrant Coral Cotton linen and dinner napkins, giving it a modern, monochromatic feel. The crisp Devon chinaware adds an element of texture, and a strategic sprinkling of pink Himalayan salt adds a whimsical nod to nature. (Looking for another way to incorporate the hue? We painted our Pillar Candles in a coordinating coral tone for a fun pop of color.)

Spring/Summer 2019 Color Trend Report
In addition to Living Coral, Pantone highlighted eleven other colors in their 2019 Spring/Summer Trend Report. With their finger on the pulse of New York Fashion Week, Pantone identified the colors and trends on the runway that stood out and made a statement.
According to Eiseman:
“The mindset for Spring/Summer 2019 underscores our desire for color that transcends seasonality and brings together high fashion and street style. Vibrant without being overpowering, highlight shades for both men’s and women’s fashion illustrate our desire for authenticity and our continued need for creativity and relatable, accessible design.”
