Nestled on 150 acres of farmland in New York’s Hudson Valley, the Glenmere Mansion brings the world to the bride and groom who have always wanted an idyllic getaway wedding in Italy. The Glenmere is truly a monument of a vanished age – with magical winding steps, exotic fountains, marble statues and an air of sophistication, making it an excellent venue for everything from weddings to corporate retreats to small meetings alike.
Built in 1911, the mansion was originally a 35-room villa overlooking Glenmere Lake. Today the Glenmere features 19 deluxe guest rooms, 2 restaurants, a spa, outdoor event spaces for private functions and a barn. All of the original architectural details have been preserved over the years, so while the mansion now offers a contemporary luxurious location, it holds on to its unique charm and essence from decades past.
The Barn is the newest feature of the Glenmere mansion. Designed especially for events, it was built on the highest point of the property to ensure a truly unique experience. With accommodations for up to 350 guests, it is complete with a large kitchen, whitewashed interiors, large Italian wedding chandeliers and private rooms for the bridal parties.
We caught up with Linda Tuthill, Director of Events when we partnered with several other friends, including On the Marc Events, Ali Barone Events, Adam Leffel Productions and Ceci New York to sponsor a luncheon for 50 event planners and showcase the new barn space. “It was spectacular to see the variety of looks that were on display at the event,” Linda told us, “Each look was truly unique; enhancing the character of the barn.”
After cocktails on the terrace, guests enjoyed a four course meal with live music before heading out to the veranda for sweets and boozy sno-cones. Four unique display rounds were set up with the long luncheon tables inside the barn. Get the looks below.

About the Glenmere Mansion
The Glenmere mansion was built in 1911 as a retreat for industrialist Robert Goelet. He was an avid traveler who had fallen in love with the lush villas of Tuscany and hoped to recreate some of his own. With the best architects of his time by his side – Carrere and Hastings – Goelet built a magnificent mansion on a spectacular hilltop overlooking Glenmere Lake and thousands of acres of land.
The garden was inspired by traditional Italian gardens and designed to showcase the breathtaking views. In the spring and summer months, the garden boasts an explosion of nature’s most spectacular colors, surrounded by terraced vistas, exotic fountains, and a pool pavilion, offering a truly romantic setting for a photoshoot, a wedding proposal, or the wedding itself.
