Top 5 Pink Summer Cocktails

Now that we’re in the heat of the summer (literally!), we’re planning al fresco soirees to celebrate everything from graduations, to our independence, to anything at all.  While you’re busy putting together a fresh, summer menu for your next event, we thought we’d handle the bartending duties by crafting and curating five summer cocktails to share with your guests.  These drinks are just as refreshing as they are beautiful, and will compliment your seasonal fare.

Paloma

Fresh squeezed citrus juice, a sugar rim, and a bit of fizz make this drink a light, refreshing summer cocktail.  We serve it with lots of ice in our  Cubist Rocks (Single) 7oz (Discontinued) to keep it cold, even in the hot sun.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 2oz tequila
  • 2oz club soda
  •  2oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Small plate with sugar (Try one similar to our White Coupe B&B)
  • Grapefruit wedge

Instructions:

  1. Sprinkle sugar on a small plate, cut grapefruit in half, rubbing outer edge of cocktail glass on grapefruit to wet, rub rim of glass in sugar.
  2. In your cocktail glass combine grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sugar, mixing until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add tequila, club soda, and ice.
  4. Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit

Tequila Smash

Tequila Smash

What would summer be without a fruity cocktail?  This drink combines muddled cherries and berries, so you can *totally* have one without sacrificing your beach body (because it’s technically fruit – right?).    Keep the presentation fancy by serving it in our Martini Glass 7oz with a blueberry and lime garnish.

Ingredients (Serves 1):

  • 8 blueberries
  • 8 Luxardo maraschino cherries
  • 4 oz Tequila; I used Tanteo Tropical Infused
  • 1 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • Garnish: Lime wheel, cherry, blueberry

Instructions:

  1. Muddle the cherries and blueberries in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add the tequila, maraschino and lime juice to the cup, fill with ice and shake several times.
  3. Pour the contents of the shaker into two rocks or martini glasses, ice and all, and serve with a lime wheel speared between a cherry and a blueberry.

Pink Gin Fuzz

Gin Fizz

  • 4 ounces fresh pink grapefuit juice
  • Seltzer

  2. Combine gin, simple syrup, and pink grapefruit juice; slowly pour over orange juice.
  3. Top with seltzer.

Sweet Eve

Strawberries and champagne are a natural pair, so why not combine them as a cocktail?  Adding a hint of elderflower cordial and some sweetness makes this taste like a summer romance in a champagne flute (we like our Riedel Flute Glass 9oz for its elegance).

Ingredients (Serves 6):

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 6 sugar cubes (optional)
  • 3 shots of elderflower cordial
  • 3 shots of Campari
  • 1 bottle of Prosecco or champagne

Instructions:

  1. Blend strawberries and strain any seeds out.
  2. When you are ready to serve put one sugar cube at bottom of champagne flute (optional).
  3. Pour half a shot of elderflower, Campari and strawberry blend into glass.
  4. Top each with prosecco or champagne.

Sparkling Strawberry Rose Sangria

sangria

Is there any cocktail more summery than sangria?  We kept ours a bit bubblier by using a sparkling Rosé, pictured in our Mercer Stemless 13oz. wine glass.  The best part about this recipe is that you can prep it in a pitcher ahead of time, then bring it right to the table to serve family-style.  Perfecto!

Ingredients (Serves 6):

  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 Valencia orange, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 lemon, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 bottle dry, sparkling rosé (750 mL)
  • 1/4 cup brandy (we went with Cognac)
  • 3 tablespoons simple syrup
  • lemon verbena sprigs for garnish
  • 2 cup sparkling water

Instructions:

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the strawberries and orange and lemon slices. Use the end of a wooden spoon to muddle the fruit a bit.
  2. In a small glass combine the brandy and the simple syrup. Pour this and the bottle of rosé over the fruit. Chill for at least an hour, or longer if you have it. Just before serving, stir in the sparkling water.
  3. Spoon some of the fruit into glasses, pour in the liquid, garnish, and serve.

And there you have it!  No matter the occasion or event you can share these fun and creative cocktails with your guests and raise a toast to summertime.  Cheers!
